So how do you get the right information to start your own farm? I bought a stack of books about crops, farming for market, etc but that still leaves a hole in practical hands on experience! We plan on attending the Fruit Production and Direct Marketing Workshop and the 2015 Farmer’s Market Boot Camps, both of these workshop qualifies as one course toward the educational requirements to receive 50% TAEP cost share for the Fruits and Vegetables and Value-Added sectors.
If you are growing in Tennessee go to the web site and sign up for email updates ASAP! Most of the classes are held on location at a reputable farmer’s place of business so you get the opportunity to see what a successful farming operation looks like.
If you are planning on attending any of these classes let us know so that we can meet and get to know each other!
